Biasong barangay captain Marlowe Dagohoy yesterday said some establishments particularly from Cebu City still do not know the site no longer operates.
Last Tuesday morning, a truck came to dump its garbage, Dagohoy said.
"Maayo nalang nga nahunong sa atong mga blue guards nga nagbantay sa maong site kay kung wala pa, ila untang labayan sa ilang basura," Dagohoy said.
Two weeks ago, the barangay ecological and solid waste management committee and the barangay council passed a resolution asking the Talisay City government to stop the dumping of garbage at the site beginning December 23.
Presently, the city is generating at least 60,000 kilograms of waste a day. It is now dumping its garbage at barangay Tapul. The Biasong dumpsite has no compliance certificate from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
Dagohoy has requested Mayor Socrates Fernandez to speed up the filling of limestone to stop the foul odor.
Fernandez has directed the city engineering office to immediately fence the Biasong dump with barbed wires. - Garry B. Lao
