The operations manager of a security agency was shot dead by his own employee inside their office at the 4th floor of Adela Building along Gen. Maxilom Avenue yesterday afternoon.
Alfredo Lasmarias, 49, of Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, and the operations manager of Criminology and Anti-Crime Security Agency, was shot in different parts of the body by Alberto Sumandig, 49, of barangay Dapatan, Manokan, Zamboanga del Norte, a stay-in worker of the said agency.
Lasmarias was killed instantly.
SPO3 Zenaido Pastorfide of the Homicide Section said they have yet to determine the motive behind the killing. He, however, said that Sumandig told him that the victim had threatened to kill him thrice before, saying he will throw him and agency owner Sesinando Mariano out of the building.
The agency's supervisor Ricky Beliosello said they had no idea about the existing grudge between Sumandig and Lasmarias since the victim never talked much.
Pastorfide said Sumandig surrendered to the police after the incident and turned over the .38 cal. revolver he used in the killing. He will be charged in court. - Norvie S. Misa, correspondent
