Liquor license office warns public against solicitations on their behalf
December 2, 2005 | 12:00am
The Cebu City Liquor Licensing Commission cautioned the public that it is not authorizing anybody on its behalf to ask for favors in any form.
"Because people are relatively generous during the Christmas season, crooked individuals out there take advantage of this generosity for whatever personal reasons they may have," Aldwin Limosnero, officer in charge of the commission, said.
Limosnero said that every year, his office gets flooded with complaints on people who solicit wines and other alcoholic beverages and or spirits knowing that the commission is in-charge of the approval of all licenses authorizing particular establishments to sell liquor.
"Naa gyuy uban nga mangayo ug inasal para kuno sa among Christmas party. But let me make it clear that we are not into such solicitations (There are those who even ask for lechon, saying such would be for our Christmas party...)," Limosnero lamented.
For the public to avoid such a predicament, he urged would-be donors to pass on information to their office should they come across unscrupulous people who will ask and or solicit items using the name of the liquor licensing office.
