Maid 'steals' kitchen items from her boss

-
A man lost several kitchen utensils and a Christmas tree worth about P20,000 allegedly to his former house helper and her son.

Marcial Pilapil, 81, a resident of barangay Polacion, Liloan town, told police that he discovered the lost items when his family was supposed to start decorating their house for Christmas.

Pilapil said he suspects his house help Tomasa Alfornon and her son as the ones who stole the items after he hired the woman late last year. Pilapil and her son left the victim's house in February.

Pilapil said he would file charges against Alfornon.

Meanwhile, unidentified persons barged into the cashier's office of the Our Lady of the Pilar Academy in barangay Poblacion, Sibonga town and took away P15,000.

Sister Leonor Abadilla, the school's administrator, reported to Sibonga police that they discovered the burglary after the flag ceremony last Monday.

Based on police investigation, the burglars entered the cashier's office by destroying the doorknob of the school's canteen. - Flor Z. Perolina
