3 men rob gas station
November 23, 2005 | 12:00am
Three armed men robbed a Shell gasoline station along Escario Street barangay Camputhaw early yesterday morning and ran off with more than P5,000.
Marlon Pelago, who works as a pump boy and at the same time the cashier at the gasoline station, said that at about 1:15 a.m., the men asked him to load their motorcycle with P30 worth of fuel. One of the men then handed Pelago a P100 bill, which he then took to the cashier's booth. However, one of the men followed him, and, upon reaching the booth, declared a hold-up.
Aiming the gun at Pelago, the man took the money from the drawer and then quickly went back to the waiting motorcycle and fled, heading toward the Lahug area.
Fuente Police Chief Jonathan Abella believed the perpetrators were just local boys who probably needed money because it was the first time that a robbery was pulled off in his jurisdiction at dawn.
Abella said it would be useless to show to Pelago pictures of possible suspects because the latter failed to take note of the features of the robbers and could not even remember the color and model of the motorcycle used. - Ryan P. Borinaga
