NBI regional director Medardo de Lemos said that witnesses said Bhupinder Sihra and his wife Gloria masterminded the murder attempt on Surgit Singh who was shot and wounded by an unidentified man last Wednesday night inside his restobar in barangay Camputhaw.
De Lemos said that the witness positively identified Gloria as the woman who was in a car parked outside the restobar and pointed to the victim before he was shot and wounded.
The NBI raided the rented apartment of the suspects at Greyhound Subdivision in barangay Kinasang-an the other day and recovered the motorcycle allegedly used by the assailant. Based on the records at the Land Transportation Office, the Aura Motorcycle is registered under Bhupinder's name.
Aside from the motorcycle, NBI operative also recovered the black shirt and the white baseball cap used by the assailant and several bullets for a .45 cal. pistol. De Lemos however said they have yet to identify the assailant, the driver of the motorcycle and the lookout.
Nevertheless, De Lemos said the Sihra couple and three other John Does will be named respondents of the frustrated murder case.
Initial police investigation showed that business rivalry might have been the motive behind the incident because Singh is into usury aside from operating a restobar. - Fred P. Languido
