Barili cops nab 2 in marijuana busts

Barili policemen arrested a man and later a woman in two separate marijuana busts Thursday.
First to fall was 49-year-old Sixto Navarro in barangay Dakit of the town where policemen found and uprooted 19 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants.
SPO4 Floro Vergara said they conducted the operation after receiving tips that Navarro has been planting marijuana in his farm.
Earlier in the day, 58-year-old Jovita Silvano was arrested in a police buy-bust operation, led by PO3 Zaldy Orillo, together with six tanods.
Silvano, a native of Badian town, was in Barili for the market day of Mantalongon but fell to the police allegedly for selling marijuana.
Seized from her were three packs of dried marijuana leaves, and the P200 buy-bust money. - Norvie S. Misa
