Two persons were found dead on Sunday and the other day while a man is now facing charges for murder.
Victoriano Quinto Jr., 44, married and a resident of barangay Tubod, Sibonga town, was killed on the spot when the Ipil-ipil tree he was climbing gave under his weight and fell, hitting his head on the ground.
PO2 Ederlino Bacusmo told The FREEMAN that relatives of the victim believed that the incident was purely accidental.
Meanwhile, a farmer was found dead by a fellow farmer in barangay, Sorsogon, Malabuyoc town, Sunday afternoon. Emilio Endrina, 49, a resident of sitio Calucan, barangay Mantanueza, Malabuyoc, was found dead by Apolinario Gallago, 32.
Police investigation revealed that the wife of the victim said her husband had a mental disorder and left their house almost two weeks ago. She suspected that he died due to hunger.
In Carcar town, Ronie Bentulan, of sitio Guiwanon, barangay Tuyom, is now facing charges for murder filed by relatives of his dead live-in partner, Jennessa Abella.
Abella, who was a nine-month old pregnant, was first reported on November 2 to have committed suicide. But police investigators said the autopsy report revealed that the victim suffered several bruises in different parts of her body, prompting her relatives to file murder charges against Bentulan.
SPO1 Joel Pananagnan said that a witness, Luis Dayondon, told police that the night before the incident, Bentulan and Abella were having an argument.
Dayondon claimed to police he heard Bentulan told Abella "patyon ta hinuon ka ron" and then saw Bentulan wrap a rope around the neck of Abella. Thinking that the suspect was only joking, the witness then left for home.
But in the dawn of November 2, Dayondon told police he was awakened by Bentulan's scream for help that Abella had hanged herself. - Norvie S. Misa, correspondent
