PB member Carmiano Kintanar of the province's second district, author of the resolution, said the rising prices of fuel in the world market made it imperative for the government to use alternative sources of power.
The DOE found in its latest study that the wind velocity in the two towns is capable of producing energy sufficient to supply power to other towns in the province.
In Oslob, the expected power generated is at least 30 megawatts while in Carmen, is at least 20 megawatts.
Cebu City and other neighboring towns could even benefit from this 50-mw total power source, said Kintanar.
Kintanar further said the funding of the grand project would come from the government and the private sector. - Ferliza C. Contratista
