Traffic for public utility and private vehicles, passing near or at cemeteries in Cebu City and Mandaue City, would be rerouted on November 1 and 2, for the observance of All Saints' and All Souls' Day, according to the traffic police of both cities.
Cebu City Police traffic group head, Supt. Julius Cesar Gornez, has advised all motorists or road users to follow traffic sign boards that would be installed in the affected routes to avoid traffic congestion.
Vehicles going to Pardo Cemetery are not allowed to pass through Dela Victoria Street and Sabellano Road.
Those going to Labangon Cemetery, from Katipunan Street, shall pass A. Lopez Street and turn left to Balaga Street to the cemetery. Then from the cemetery passing Balaga Street shall turn right to Tranza Road and exit to Katipunan Street.
However, vehicles going to Calamba Cemetery, passing V. Rama Avenue, shall take their usual route but horse carriages, or "tartanilla," should not pass V. Rama Avenue and shall turn right instead to Alcantara Street and back.
For those going to Talamban Cemetery, all vehicles from the downtown area passing Talamban proper shall turn right to Barbajo Street, turn left or right to Miñoza Street to their destination. But vehicles coming from Pit-os shall pass Miñoza Street to downtown proper.
Those going to Cempark Cemetery, except trucks and trailers, coming from downtown area passing Governor Cuenco Avenue should take only the rightmost side of the road.
Vehicles passing Mabolo, except jeepney routes no. 21B and 22B, and going to Old San Miguel, Carreta, Doña Pepang, Chinese, Ludo and Queen City Garden cemeteries, shall turn left to Juan Luna Avenue, then turn right to S. Osmeña Avenue, right to T. Padilla Extension, and left to MJ Cuenco Avenue to downtown area.
Meanwhile in Mandaue City, all PUJs from Cebu City for Ibabao and Ouano routes will take A. del Rosario Street to their destination. In their return trip, they should use A. del Rosario Street, turn right to the Caltex station, and turn left to M.C. Briones Street to their destination.
Those PUJs, from the Country Mall in barangay Banilad, will turn left to M.C. Briones Street then turn right to A.C. Cortes Avenue, turn right to Sotero B. Cabahug Street to their destination.
Tricycles from the public market will use Suson Street, turn left to F.B. Cabahug Street, turn right to D.B. Niere Street, proceed to Golden Dragon, right turn at B.B. Cabahug Street, and left turn at A.C. Cortes Avenue to their destination.

The provincial government has also announced that it would be augmenting the security force detailed at the South Bus Terminal starting on Saturday when hordes of travelers are expected to pack the trips to their respective towns in the province.
Terminal administrator Manuel Gial said it was already decided that seven policemen from the Provincial Police Office would be sent to beef up the five policemen already detailed at the terminal. Fifteen more security guards would also be detailed in the area, he said.
Gial said they have also coordinated with barangay Pahina Central to deploy tanods to help maintain peace and order at the terminal. Personnel from the Land Transportation Office, the Traffic Management Group, and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board were also tasked to prevent overloading of buses, said Gial.
Temporary railings will also be installed at the terminal to ensure an orderly queue of passengers as they take their booked trips. - Mitchelle P. Calipayan, Jose P. Sollano, and Fred P. Languido
