A man arrested for drug possession yesterday got into more trouble after he tried to bribe his arresting officers.
William Satelliza, 42, of sitio Ponce I, barangay Carreta, was reportedly walking along an interior alley in the area when he met a team of Waterfront Police operatives led by SPO1 Francisco Balansag, who were conducting patrols against illegal gambling.
Seeing the policemen, Satelliza ran and reportedly threw away a small plastic pack that later turned out to be shabu worth P100. The policemen chased Satelliza and eventually captured him.
SPO1 Rene Cerna said that when they arrived at the station, Satelliza allegedly offered P15,000 to the police for his release.
Aside from a case for alleged possession of shabu, Satelliza would also be charged with violation of Article 212 of the Revised Penal Code that is defined as corruption of public officials. - Ryan P. Borinaga
