Drunk son shoots Pa in Minglanilla

An 81-year-old engineer is now in serious condition after being shot by his son inside his house in sitio Linao, barangay Lipata, Minglanilla town Friday night.

Emiliano Adlawan was watching television in the living room when his son, Emil Ariel, 44, married and a resident of sitio Tungkil, arrived.

Since Emil Ariel was drunk during his visit, a heated argument ensued between the father and son, prompting the suspect to shoot his father with a .38 caliber firearm four times, hitting the victim in the face.

The suspect then fled after the incident while the victim was rushed to a medical clinic and was later transferred to the Perpetual Succor Hospital.

Although no case has been filed against Emil Ariel, the police said they are still waiting for other family members of the victim whether or not to sue the suspect. - Flor Z. Perolina
