Talisay City creates records committee

The Talisay City government is set to improve its records keeping system through the creation of a Records Management Improvement Committee.

An Executive Order issued by City Mayor Socrates Fernandez provided for the creation of the committee, which is tasked to identify and preserve documents that are of continuing value, as well as those of temporary value.

The committee will also develop policies and techniques for repairing damaged records and take steps to prevent less and unauthorized destruction of records. Also, the committee will establish a program to transfer the records to the Records Management and Archives Office.

City administrator Aurora Econg will head the committee with General Services Officer Joan Vebar and Human Resource Management Officer Emely Cabrera as vice-chairmen. All department heads and heads of office are members of the committee. - Garry B. Lao
