Members of the Talisay City Fishermen Sea and Ecological Care yesterday morning recovered in Minglanilla town the body of a one-year-old girl who went missing in Talisay City since Thursday.
The FESECA members, headed by Ulysses Fernandez, fished out the body of Jean Villegas from the seawaters off barangay Tungkop past 7 a.m.
Jean's parents, Julito and Belinda Villegas, were shocked upon learning that she was gone from their side when they woke up around 2 a.m. last Thursday.
The Villegas family resides in sitio Litmon, a coastal area situated in the boundary of barangays Poblacion and Dumlog in Talisay City.
Poblacion barangay captain Teodolfo Labajo believed that the girl fell into the seawater beneath their shanty. It was learned that the seawater would reach Villegas' shanty during high tide. - Garry B. Lao
