Kiwanis Club-Cebu installs new officers

The Kiwanis Club of Cebu installed its new set of officers and inducted new members during a grand ceremony held at the Casino Español de Cebu last Friday evening.
Eliodoro Ostia was installed as the club's 37th president taking over the position of Loreto Encorporado who automatically became one of the club's seven directors.
Other installed officers were William Medici as the president-elect, Gerry Glen Saw as vice-president for external affairs, Michael Jurado as vice-president for internal affairs, Jed Calomarde as secretary, and Jose Cunanan as treasurer.
Aside from Encorporado, the other directors installed were Teddy Yu, Edward So, Carlos del Rosario, Miguel del Gallego, Antonio de Jesus and Florencia Streegan.
These new officers and directors were installed into office by Kiwanis' Lt. Gov. Marit Remonde while Encorporado inducted the five new members: Mark Cools, Gis Garces, Hermie Sering, Peter Van Linden and Rosario Rama.
The ceremonies' guest speaker was Steven Rood of the Asia Foundation.
The Kiwanis Club-Cebu took pride in a number of projects promoting the objectives of the international civic organization. Among these are its annual searches for Cebu City's outstanding policemen and for ten outstanding high school graduates of Cebu, free medical and dental clinics, livelihood programs and voters' education for first-time voters. - Jasmin R.
