Large-scale dealers of newspapers and magazines in the city yesterday signed a manifesto with the City Anti-Indecency Board to stop the distribution or sales of pornographic publications.
CAIB chairman Rene Josef Bullecer said these 15 dealers would no longer accept and distribute pornographic or smut magazines and papers within Cebu City starting today.
Dealers agreed that anyone found violating such manifesto would be penalized with a P5,000 fine and every newsstand selling such materials would be closed, said Bullecer.
The pact signing came after Bullecer and his team, composed of CAIB personnel and policemen, yesterday raided some newsstands on Colon Street and confiscated a number of various magazines containing pictures they deemed pornographic.
