Three people, including a woman, were charged in court after they were allegedly caught selling shabu in Tangke, one of the most heavily drug-infested barangays in Talisay City.
Marissa Obrero, Mark Omnan, 18, and Dondon Payos, 20, were arrested by the elements of the Talisay City Police Station during an anti-drug operation in sitio Galaxy, Tangke on September 23.
In their joint affidavit, PO3 Rey Bucao, PO3 Renato Abellar Jr. and PO2 Junar Rey Barangan said that a civilian asset informed them of the drug trade of the suspects in the area.
Wearing plain clothes, policemen rushed to the area and caught the suspects in the act of selling shabu.
The police seized two small packs of suspected shabu weighing .10 grams from Obrero and one pack of the illegal drug each from Omnan and Payos.
Talisay City prosecutor Marshall Rubia approved the filing of the case against the suspects before the regional trial court.
Meanwhile, the Bantayan town police arrested 59-year-old Angelo Villaceran for allegedly selling shabu in barangay Ticad Thursday afternoon.
