Three persons, including a suspected bigtime drug pusher, were arrested during a police operation in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday morning.
Caught were Victor Gadiana, 39, Sherwin Luna Ybañez, 28, both of barangay Pajo, and Dexie Roy De Loyas Pepito, 28, of barangay Pusok.
Gadiana was arrested through a search warrant issued by Lapu-Lapu City Regional Trial Court Branch 27 judge Geraldine Faith Econg.
Gadiana's wife, Jeje Gadiana, was included in the search warrant, but she was not around during the raid, which was conducted by the Lapu-Lapu City police led by Inspector Francisco Baguio at around 2 in the morning.
Baguio said the raid was conducted after a week of surveillance on Gadiana couple on reports that they were engaged in the illegal drug trade. Police recovered from Gadiana's house two decks of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and two bullets for M16.
After Gadiana's arrest, police then accosted a man identified later as Ybañez who allegedly acted as look out for the couple. Confiscated from Ybañez was a .38 cal. revolver with a bullet.
An hour later, Pepito passed by Gadiana's house onboard a motorcycle. But he was arrested after he tried to speed off when he noticed the presence of the police.
