Man killed in road accident

A 50-year-old man died after he was ran over by a cargo truck while he was fixing the engine of his vehicle by the roadside along United Nations Avenue in barangay Umapad, Mandaue City, Tuesday morning.
The victim was identified as Geregaine Minorias, of Kimberly Subdivision, sitio Kimba, barangay Cansojong, Talisay City was first taken to the Mactan Doctors' Hospital but did not reach it alive.
Mandaue Traffic Division investigators said that at about 9:45 am that day, Minorias was fixing the engine of his Isuzu ELF truck.
Shortly after, a cargo tuck, driven by Felipe Fabrica and with plate number GVR-202, came and hit Minoria's truck, the impact sending Minorias to the ground. Fabrica tried to control his wayward truck, which ran Minorias over instead. Fabrica surrendered to the traffic police. - Jose P. Sollano
