Talisay City police shot then arrested a 28-year-old man wanted for a murder case after he tried to escape them in barangay Jaclupan last Thursday afternoon
Talisay policeman Insp. Ricardo Nayne identified the suspect as Roland Cabrillos, who policemen tried to arrest last Thursday with a warrant signed by Regional Trial Court Branch 19 judge Ramon Codilla Jr.
But the suspect saw the police coming to get him and fled from his house. Policemen chased him and shot him in the right thigh when he refused to yield.
Despite his injury, Cabrillos ran on and disappeared from the policemen's sights.
Later, an informant texted SPO2 Jerome Abatayo that a wounded man was seen being helped onto a white multicab and the multicab was already on its way to a hospital.
The policemen immediately conducted a roadblock in the area that eventually led to the arrest of Cabrillos. He was brought by policemen to the Visayas Community Hospital for his treatment. - Garry B. Lao
