Popular restobar may open today
September 23, 2005 | 12:00am
With the issuance of their business permit yesterday, the city government is expected to reopen today popular restobar Yo! Latino.
The establishment was closed yesterday afternoon after the city government discovered some problems with regards to its business permit. But while Yo! Latino has been paying taxes, a business permit is still necessary for an establishment to operate.
A notice for the compliance of a business permit was sent to the establishment August 2005 but the same allegedly was not complied with, prompting the city government to implement the closure. Even with the issuance of a business permit, the city government still intends to look into the business records of Yo! Latino to verify if it has been declaring the right gross income. Jonjie Gonzales, PR consultant of the establishment's owner told The FREEMAN they welcome the decision of the city government to look into the establishment's records and that they would comply with whatever requirements needed.
Gonzales maintained they have diligently complied with their monetary requirements since the establishment opened and that the problem was merely on the health cards even for non-regular employees that was not immediately acted upon. - Joeberth M. Ocao
