The Cebu City Police Office is recommending for the inclusion of a Pagadian-based policeman into the most wanted list for eluding arrest after he allegedly stabbed to death, using a jungle knife, his wife who was also a cop last Sunday at past 4 pm.
Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Branch chief Paul Labra yesterday said that because the incident was violent and grave they are now contemplating the immediate inclusion of PO1 Karl Lou Tejano in the list of most wanted personalities in the metropolis.
Karl was pinpointed as solely responsible for the death of his wife PO2 Luchelle Luchavez-Tejano at the latter's rented room in Sambag 1 just across the Regional Police Office, Sunday afternoon.
Luchelle who sustained 21 stab wounds all over her body, particularly on her back and breast, failed to make it alive to the Cebu City Medical Center after elements of the Mobile Patrol Group rushed her there.
Labra said they are now coordinating with their counterparts in Zamboanga del Sur for the manhunt of Karl who was said to be a member of the Provincial Mobile Group based in Pagadian city.
Initial investigation by the Homicide section revealed that the couple had a violent quarrel after Lutchelle refused to go with Karl back to Pagadian City that eventually resulted to the stabbing incident perpetrated allegedly in front of their one-year-old son.
The victim reportedly refused to go with Karl back to Pagadian as she was allegedly a battered wife, the very reason she applied for reassignment in Central Visayas.
Luchelle had been assigned under the regional headquarters' Family, Juvenile and Gender Sensitivity section barely two months. Her husband followed her here recently wanting to win back his family.
Efforts to locate Karl in the pier area immediately after the incident proved futile prompting the city police to coordinate with their counterparts in Zamboanga del Sur for the suspect's capture.
