Install light bulbs in business premises

Councilor Edgardo Labella called on businessmen to install light bulbs in the premises of their establishments to prevent crimes from being committed.
In a resolution he filed before the city council, Labella noted several cases in which robbers preyed upon stores or buildings that are unlighted.
He said the risk of being robbed is greater if unlighted establishments are located along narrow streets where streetlights are non-functional.
A well-lighted street prevents the commission of crime, especially in areas where criminals are known to operate, Labella said.
"A well-lighted business premises may appear costly but in the long run it will be a sound security-oriented investment since stores or business establishments will not be easily ransacked by lawless elements at night," Labella said. - Cristina C. Birondo
