Mandaue fetes top 10 corporate taxpayers

The Mandaue City government honored the other night the top ten corporate taxpayers in Mandaue that had contributed to the city's economic development.

Aside from the top ten corporate taxpayers, the city government also honored different national government and law enforcement agencies.

The honoring ceremony is part of the different activities lined up by city officials and the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry of last August 30's 36th city's charter day anniversary.

Acting city mayor Amadeo Seno, Jr. led the celebration. Mayor Thadeo Ouano is in the United States attending a seminar on environmental concerns.

The city mayor congratulated Eric Mendoza, president of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The highest taxpaying companies are: Visayan Electric Company, Zuellig Pharma Corporation, San Miguel Corporation, Pilipinas Makro, Inc., Aboitiz Construction Group, Inc., Monde Nissin Biscuits Corporation, United Laboratories, Inc., Vismin Foods Corporation, Mitsubishi Motors Cebu Corporation, and Excellence Appliance Tech. Inc.

The city government also honored the Department of Interior and Local Government-Mandaue City Office, Mandaue City Police Office, Mandaue City Jail, and Mandaue City Fire Station.

The individual awards went to Jail Chief Inspector Jose D. Moring, Jr.-Mandaue City Jail warden Chief Inspector Gaudencio Cagape, awarded as the "Best Jr PCO" during the celebration of the 14th PNP anniversary; Senior Inspector Jose Matinao Liddawa, Jr., SPO1 Nolicasio Nanoy , Inspector Jesus Empleo Baco Jr., Senior Inspector Jonit Canlas Canlapan, and PO1 Breslexter Labra Lagahid.

The outstanding department head was Dr. Rosemarie O. Tirado, city nutrition officer and population management officer.

The other awardees included Antonio Taylo, city market supervisor as outstanding division head' Thelma Suico, Immunization Officer of the City Health Office as outstanding regular employee, Lolit Villa, Section Head, Barangay Development Coordinators and CBMS project and Deirdre Jumao-as, Livelihood Skills Trainor, I-TED. - Jose P. Sollano
