The National Bureau of Investigation busted the other day a computer printing shop that allegedly manufactures fake South Reclamation Project passes and tourist guide accreditation cards.
Two computer operators of Gold Finger Computer Printing, located at the third level of a mall at the North Reclamation Area, have been arrested after they issued fake tourist guide identification cards to the NBI operatives during an entrapment operation.
Rojie Alquilos and Gerjane Pilarca were collared by the NBI at 4:00 p.m. last Tuesday in the act of making counterfeit tourist guide ID cards. They were charged with falsification of public documents yesterday along with the shop owner, Consuelo Young, who was not around during the operation. Aside from the suspects' arrest, the NBI also seized several computer units, scanners and a printing machine.
NBI regional director Medardo Delemos said the operation followed after Department of Tourism regional director Patricia Aurora Roa filed a complaint last Monday against the shop for faking their tourist guide accreditations.
Delemos said that during the operation, his men pretended to be customers, and ordered five fake tourist guide ID cards at P200 each.
Delemos said the shop had been under surveillance for weeks following information that it was also making counterfeit SRP passes. However, the supposed operation was called off because the shop had lied low in its operation.
Delemos said the shop may have also involved in making counterfeit public documents because they recovered transcript of records, business permits, city treasurer's certificates of payment of real property taxes, a transfer certificate of title, a driver's license and other documents.
