Tanod Jimmy Ople, accused of pointing a .45 cal. pistol at PO3 Alfonso Flordeliz of the Fuente police, is now detained at the barangay Punta Princesa.
Flordeliz told The F REEMAN yesterday that he took Adelfa Street on his way home with his family to Talisay City at around 10 p.m. Monday on board his Multicab.
As alleged, while a drunk Ople was walking a speeding car buzzed him, sending him to the ground. Just as he got up, Flordeliz's car stopped in front of him. Ople quickly surmised it was Flordeliz's car that hit him. He confronted Flordeliz and told him he was a cop, at the same time pulling out a gun and aiming it at Flordeliz.
Flordeliz said he was speechless for a moment and it was his son who spoke up telling Ople his father was also a policeman. But Ople did not reportedly listen. At this juncture, Flordeliz saw a chance to get hold of the gun while someone in the area helped Flordeliz overpower Ople.
