Policeman accused of pointing gun at 3 men

A member of the Cebu Provincial Police Office was accused of pointing his service firearm at three men Sunday night in barangay Calajoan, Minglanilla town.

SPO3 Ricardo Villacrusis allegedly pointed his firearm at Archimedes Sugarol, 26, married; Felix Nadela, 26, single and Sherwin Unabia, 22, single - all Calajoan residents - while they were sitting on a bench near the San Pedro Chapel when he passed by.

The victims claimed the policeman was under the influence of liquor when he, for no apparent reason, pointed his firearm at them onboard his jiffy.

The three were advised by the Minglanilla police to lodge their complaint with the CPPO since Villacrusis was assigned at the Provincial Intelligence and Investigation Division.

Yesterday, Calajoan barangay councilor Loreto Basabe accompanied the three to report the incident to CPPO director Drusillo Bolodo.

But Bolodo told them that since the incident happened in Minglanilla, they should filed their complaint there, and if the town's police chief Carlos Reyes will not act on their complaint, then the CPPO will investigate the case.

In a separate interview, Villacrusis he said he is willing to face his accusers, adding that although he drank a few shots of liquor, he denied being drunk during that time.

Since he learned that his accusers are "hawod" in the place, Villacrusis said he only pulled-out his firearm for fear that they might do something bad at him, denying that he aimed it at them.
