1 dead, 1 hurt in kin conflicts

A man named Juanito was killed while another man with also the same name was hurt in two separate family feuds last Sunday.

Juanito Malabago, 26, stabbed dead by his uncle Luciano Malabago in sitio Candojon, barangay Bala, Moalboal town, last Sunday evening.

PO2 Edgar Mantalaba of the Moalboal police said that Juanito, armed with a knife, came to Luciano's house looking for his cousin Roland Malabago. Juanito was reportedly jealous upon knowing that Roland slept in his house when his wife was alone.

Juanito saw Roland and chased him, but he failed to catch him, Juanito went back to the house where he saw Luciano also armed with a knife prepared to defend his son Roland.

The two fought and Juanito ended up getting stabbed in the chest while Luciano sustained stab wounds in the abdomen armpit and right side. He managed to hire a motorcycle and brought himself to the Badian District hospital, he was later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

Meanwhile, in barangay Perrelos, Carcar, another man also named Juanito was shot by his own brother after their parents called them to settle their feud.

Juanito Tapere, 39, landed at the Carcar District Hospital after being shot by his younger brother Allan last Sunday.

Both brothers had been called by their parents to settle their differences over an undisclosed issue, but this led to an argument and Allan got his homemade .357 cal. revolver and shot his brother twice.

Juanito was hit once in the left shoulder, their neighbor SPO3 Ronnie Daligdig responded to the alarm and managed to disarm Allan before he escaped.
