A wanted person is now in critical condition after he was shot by members of the Regional Mobile Group while trying to elude arrest Friday morning in Sitio Kabunbongan, barangay Manlapay in Dalaguete town.
Edgardo Deluna, 32, single and a farmer, had two warrants of arrest for frustrated murder and theft issued by Judge Maxim Perez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 26 and Municipal Trial Court judge Vidal Gilia.
PO1 Clyde Benjamin Yu said that last Thursday night, about 17 members of the RMG rounded the house of Deluna, who had long been eluding arrest.
But when Deluna sensed the presence of the policemen, the suspect and an unidentified man then fired at the lawmen. A gunfight ensued, hitting Deluna on the left thigh. The suspect also sustained some fractured bones.
