SWAT cop accused of fondling woman

A member of Special Weapons and Tactics team of the Cebu City Police Office was positively identified during a police lineup yesterday as the one who touched the private parts of a wife of a policemen detained at the Mobile Patrol Group headquarters last July 24.

SPO1 Dennis Sosmena, SWAT Team 4 leader was positively identified by Ruby Dino, wife of PO1 Wenceslao Dino, who was detained after having a fight with a jailguard.

SPO4 Felix Bihay, chief investigator of the Internal Affairs Service, yesterday Ruby said she is certain it was Sosmena who touched her while she came to see her husband because he was wearing a SWAT uniform with a nameplate.

During that time the six-man Team 4 was on duty, the reason why they were the only group subjected to a police lineup.

Bihay said that after Sosmena was positively identified he immediately denied the allegations saying he was resting in their office during that time.

Bihay said that although their office is still conducting a follow-up investigation on the case, if it is proven Dino's wife can file an administrative case against Sosmena.
