Theft and robbery section investigators said it was 3pm and Antonia Cara Osmeña had just came from a gym and stopped by the mall to buy something.
Antonia then drove to the mall's parking area the midnight blue Vitara car (plate number YAN-185), she borrowed from her elder brother Renato Jr.
After ten minutes, she entered the mall into the supermarket section. But when she returned, she saw a man-about 35 years old, wearing denims and white shirt-already carrying her violet sports bag taken from inside her car.
As the man darted off, she quickly gave chase but lost him when they reached the mall's ground floor.
She said her stolen bag contained two pairs of shoes, clothes, cosmetics and mobile phone, which are worth a total of at least P30,000.
TRS investigator Isagani Pugoy told The FREEMAN that the thief broke the right side quarter glass window at the back portion of the vehicle and gained entry there to take Antonia's bag.
Two civilian-clad guards at the parking lot reasoned out to Pugoy that they failed to notice the incident because the vehicle was parked in an interior portion and blocked by a huge concrete post.
It was reportedly the second burglary incident to occur in the parking area of the mall, the name of which The FREEMAN must withhold pending the issuance of an official statement from the management.
