City may file falsification case vs. bar

-
The city is contemplating filing a falsification case against the management of the now closed Halo Disco Bar for presenting a spurious business permit to the city government.

This upon learning that the city's revenue task force had also forwarded to his office a falsified business permit submitted by Halo.

Although the mayor is not so keen in conducting an investigation on the matter because filing a case against Halo is already enough and an investigation may just turn out to be merely finding out lapses, he nevertheless said they will see if the city's Liquor Licensing Commission officer-in-charge Aldwin Limosnero is to be held liable. Limosnero earlier said Halo was able to comply with the mayor's permit.

Prior to the issuance of Halo's closure order last July 15 by City Administrator Francisco "Bimbo" Fernandez for failing to comply with the fire safety permit, Limosnero had submitted a report on Halo to Cebu City Anti-Indecency Board chairman Rene Josef Bullecer, recommending for a strict implementation of the city ordinance regulating the sale and serving of liquor to minors. - Cristina C.
