This after four newly-elected members took their oath of office before Toledo City Mayor Arlene Zambo, joining the SK chairman Jose Geneve Sepada and three members who were already elected on July 15, 2002 or a little more than three years ahead.
During those elections, only three ran and won for SK member posts. But nothing was done to fill in the vacant posts until recently.
The four new members, elected through secret balloting in a special election last July 23, are Mark Anthony Barquin, Ronilo Resuelo, Orlando Bacus and Jennifer Bacalso. They completed the required seven members, aside from the chairman, to provide the needed quorum and make a SK functional.
Provincial Interior and Local Government Officer Edmundo Jamisola conducted the election with the help of Toledo City-DILG operations officers Gloria Pacampara and Erlinda Diserto and Toledo SK Federation president Mark Dacuma.
Jamisola said the Biga SK can function now and exercise its powers and duties for the benefit of the youth it has been mandated to serve. - Ferliza C. Contratista
