Emphasis' statement irks Capitol consultant
July 28, 2005 | 12:00am
Capitol consultant Pablo John Garcia is asking Information and Communication Technology commissioner Elberto Emphasis to stop meddling with the political issues in Cebu.
Garcia said Emphasis's continuous involvement in partisan politics is uncalled on the basis that he is an appointed government official.
Emphasis has claimed that he was commissioned by President Arroyo to win back fourth district Rep. Clavel Martinez's support after Martinez became a signatory to the impeachment complaint the Opposition had filed in Congress.
Emphasis had said that the President had consulted him about the problem with Martinez and that he should take all the necessary steps to win her back. Emphasis had said that the President still values the support Martinez had extended during the last elections.
Garcia has taken Emphasis' statement as an attempt to defend Martinez.
Martinez is the only Cebuano member of Congress who signed the impeachment complaint.
