Cebu bizmen back Ro-Ro terminal in Cordova

Cebu businessmen are backing the construction of the Road Roll on/Roll off terminal system in Cordova town.
Robert Go, president of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the construction of the Ro-Ro ferry landing facilities in Cordova town will contribute to the economic development not only in Cordova but the whole Cebu province.
Go issued the statement yesterday when Mayor Arleigh Sitoy presented his study of the proposed construction of the Roro port in his town.
According to Go, the town of Cordova is very close to several towns of the northern part of Bohol province.
Assistant Secretary Phineas Alburo of the Department of Tourism said the proposed project would also attract more tourists.
House committee chairman on Ro-Ro Misamis Oriental Rep. Augustus Baculio said the Ro-Ro terminal would benefit also small farmers in transporting their products.
Sitoy said economic growth and development would not be far away because Cordova is strategically located. - Jose P. Sollano
