Alleged pimp shot dead, blue guard hit

Two men onboard a motorcycle shot dead a 32-year-old alleged pimp Sunday midnight in barangay Kamagayan, Cebu City hitting a security guard who was taking his midnight snack nearby.
Amadeo Austeniane was reportedly standing at the corner of Don Pedro Cui street and P. del Rosario extension while talking to other alleged pimps when the gunmen who were wearing crash helmets fired at him several times.
Austeniane was hit twice in his back, once in the head, and on his left arm killing him on the spot. Stray bullets hit security guard Roger Uy in the left thigh. He was immediately taken to the Cebu City Medical Center.
As of yesterday afternoon, Homicide investigator Zenaido Pastorfide Jr. could not determine yet whether the gunmen were vigilantes, although he said it's one of the angles being looked into.
He said there are reports the slain man was involved in the underworld as a drug peddler and that his death may have stemmed from a drug deal that had gone sour.
Pastorfide said another angle the police are looking into is the possibility that a disgruntled customer killed the victim because he was reportedly engaged in what they termed as "switching."
This means that as a pimp, one would present a better and a prettier commercial sex worker for a client to see, but when the deal is sealed a different woman would go inside the client's room.
He said the victim was also jailed for a drug case, but they are not certain yet when or where. - Ryan P. Borinaga
