Man facing raps for abducting girl

A suspected drug user was arrested by the police after he was accused of abducting a 16-year-old girl in barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City, last June 30.
Kenneth Dignos, 29, of San Antonio St., barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City, is presently detained at the Mandaue City Jail.
Dignos was arrested by members of the Special Weapons and Tactics and City Anti- Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force after the victim's mother lodged a complaint before the police in Station 5 of Barangay Opao.
Corazon Valmoria, 42, of barangay Looc, told policemen Dignos forcibly brought her daughter to his rented room last week.
After a week of surveillance, police confirmed that the victim was inside the rented room of Dignos.
SPO1 Mike Jaron led policemen in conducting the rescue of the 16-year-old victim, during which policemen also recovered drug paraphernalia in possession of the suspect.
They are also verifying reports that the victim and the suspect had a relationship.
However, investigator said since the victim is a minor, the suspect is liable for abduction aside from charges of illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.
