Motorcyclist dies after falling from 30-ft cliff

A motorcycle-for-hire driver, believed to be drunk, died after driving his motorcycle off a 30-meter cliff in barangay Lower Bisiril, Boljoon town last Saturday afternoon.
Willy Gorida, 40, a resident of Upper Bisiril did not reach the Dalaguete District Hospital after Boljoon alive.
His passenger, Gerry Anorico, 25, a relative, only sustained contusions on his shoulder, as he reportedly was able to jump off the vehicle. SPO1 Roderick Roma, an investigator of the Boljoon police said that prior to the incident, Gorida was in barangay Poblacion to deliver copra.
However, upon arriving at the house of the copra buyer, there reportedly was a birthday celebration and that he was reportedly cajoled to drink liquor. Roma who was believed to be drunk, was reportedly driving at full speed. Upon arriving at a blind curve, he reportedly lost control of the motorcycle.
