Provincial Accountant Marietto Ypil yesterday requested all provincial government offices to furnish his office with a diskette file of their payrolls from January until June.
The same procedure will be applied in the succeeding months following the computerization program of the province's accounting records through COA's Electronic New Government Accounting System.
A local government unit needs more than half a million pesos for the new accounting system, which can also be availed through the private service providers.
But COA has discouraged the LGUs from availing of the system from private service providers because these providers usually charge four times the original price.
Even Cebu City has not yet installed the system since it requires the computerization of offices such as those of the assessor and budget.
