According to BALS director Carolina Guerrero, the monitoring activity seeks to determine the status of the accreditation and equivalency implementation contracted to service providers, validate learning achievement and performance of learners, and evaluate the performance of the facilitators and instructional manager and service providers.
" This initiative is being undertaken as a priority activity under the education for all 2015 plan for the alternative learning system," Guerrero said.
The accreditation and Equivalency tests is given to out-of-school youths and adults aged 15 and above who are basically literate or have completed the Functional education and literacy program and learners who have attended or are attending learning sessions conducted by service providers contracted under the BALS A and E Learning Support Delivery System.
Based on the output of the evaluation the education department is expected to formulate policies that would address the issues and problems in the implementation of the literacy programs in the alternative learning system.
