Pajantoy bail hearing reset again for today

The hearing of SPO4 Juanito Pajantoy's motion to post bail was reset again for today after the prosecution failed to present its witness.
Pajantoy, now detained at the Bagong Buhay Rehabilitation Center, is accused of killing suspected robber Omar Patiño and his fellow Cebu City policeman PO3 Michael Sarcol on July 2003.
Regional Trial Court Branch 5 judge Ireneo Gako Jr. reset the hearing for today.
Yesterday Ombudsman-Military lawyer Macaundas Hadjinasul brought an NBI ballistician to testify to the court, but the defense panel already admitted that the accused, Pajantoy admitted earlier that he shot Patiño therefore there was no need for his testimony.
Hadjinasul told the court that he is set to present four other witnesses, but more time is needed to trace them. Two of them once worked for KD Surplus, where the shooting took place, which is now closed.
The prosecution counsel maintained that none of them are missing only they did not have enough time to locate them. Another witness, a cigarette vendor in the area where the shooting incident took place, is no longer selling in that same area. The last witness is a salesman of Ace Foods, Corp. but when the NBI subpoenaed him they were told he was out on field.
Hadjinasul asked the court until Monday afternoon to present all the prosecution witnesses. The defense warned they may object to any more postponement in the future.
