Akrho man shoots city market office employee

A member of Alpha Kappa Rho has been eyed in the shooting of a 64-year-old employee of the city market office Monday night.
The suspect, Sonny dela Cruz, was identified by witnesses as the one who shot Ramon Jumao-as of sitio Laguna, B. Aranas Street at around 10 p.m. The victim sustained gunshot wounds in his back and left shoulder.
The motive of the shooting was not clearly established as witnesses said they were drinking when they heard a burst of gunfire, adding that when they saw the victim, he was already sprawled along the pathway.
Dela Cruz has a standing warrant of arrest for murder together with Arestotle Aves, one of the most wanted personalities in the city.
Meanwhile, a construction worker died after being shot by a fellow construction worker, who was suspected to be a thief in barangay Alaska Mambaling yesterday morning.
Reports said Ronie Fernandez went out of their house to buy cigarette when he was allegedly shot by Jogy Abellana around 9:30 a.m.
Initial police investigation said Abellana, who is now at large, suspected that the victim told their friends that he stole a carton of paint and tie wires from the construction firm they used to work for.
Meanwhile, another member of Alpha Kappa Rho is now in critical condition after being shot by two motorcycle-riding men near a pension house in barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City, yesterday morning.
Darwin Tuñacao, 20, sustained gunshot wounds in his left bicep and his left rib. He is presently confined at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Initial investigation conducted by Lapu-Lapu City police homicide investigator SPO1 Julito Jumao-as disclosed that at around 1 a.m., Tuñacao and his friends were sitting at the burger junction when he noticed a commotion at the nearby Ace Pension House.
While checking the incident, Tuñacao was shot by two persons, who immediately fled on board the motorcycle bound for Cebu City.
At the hospital, Tuñacao admitted to the police that he is a member of Alpha Kappa Rho.
Lapu-Lapu City police chief, Louie Oppus ordered his men to look into the incident.
In Danao City, a 15-year-old boy died after being shot by three unidentified men along Rizal Street in barangay Poblacion Monday night.
Christopher Pinote Gacrama of Sitio Cambiohan, barangay Poblacion was declared dead on arrival at the Danao City General Hospital. He sustained a gunshot wound in the head.
SPO3 Ramonito Ramonida of the Danao City police said before the incident, the victim was talking with the three men, who were waiting for him in the area.
The suspects then fled on board a motorcycle with no plate number.
Police investigators believe the incident has something to do with fraternity because the crime scene is a hangout of fratmen in the city.
