DILG provincial officer Edmond Jamisola said the training is part of the ISKOLAR Program of the department with the participating SKs contributing to the funds of its implementation.
Jamisola said the training would equip the young leaders with the needed skills in governance to make them effective participants in the development of Philippine society.
The training is divided into three modules: Basic orientation seminar, Skills enhancement and empowerment towards development or SEED, and Special needs.
The participants were given technical guidance on the current needs in educational, leadership, advocacy, legislative, and values.
Other components of the modules include SK roles and responsibilities, constitution and by-laws, parliamentary procedureas, righteous leadership, organization management, and budget workshop.
The training's final phase, currently undertaken, covers ways on dealing with the present issues in the respective areas of the officials.
The participants came from the cities of Danao, Talisay and Toledo; and from the towns of Alegria, Aloguinsan, Argao, Asturias, Balamban, Badian , Barili, Borbon, Dalaguete, Ginatilan, Malabuyoc, Pinamungajan, San Fernando, San Remegio and Tuburan.
