888 News Forum 13th Anniversary

The 888 News Forum recently celebrated its 13th anniversary at the Cebu Grand Ballroom of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. It was attended by media personalities and guests from different government and private sectors. The event started with the usual forum and was followed by the anniversary celebration hosted by Marco Polo Plaza communications manager Manna Alcaraz.

Other than celebrating 13 fruitful years of being the venue for local and national discussions in Cebu, the 888 News Forum anniversary has an annual tradition of recognizing different individuals or institutions that rendered exemplary service to the community. This year’s awardees include Dir. Shalimar Tamano – Department of Tourism Region VII director, Mr. Luis Alavarez – Montebello Villa Resort general manager, and Mr. Eduard Jarque Loop – Cebu Safari and Adventure Park vice-president and COO. The event’s guests of honor include former tourism secretary Dr. Mina Gabor and Cebu City vice mayor Mike Rama.

The 888 News Forum was started in 2006 and has made Marco Polo Plaza Cebu its permanent venue for nine years now. The forum gathers the media, well-known personalities, and different government and private sectors in Cebu to discuss different domestic and national concerns.
