12 Years of Heart

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor Ynclino - The Freeman

Golden Prince Hotel celebrated “12 Years of Heart” on its 12th anniversary. The home-grown property aims to be a distinguished hotel brand known for its Unique Cebuano Royalty Experience. Serenading the guests on that wonderful day were the UC Chorale, The Wonggoys and the award-winning Cebuano singer Mr. Cerj Michael. The hotel`s 12 valued clients also received their Golden Mileage Award trophies for their continuous support and patronage.

Golden Prince Hotel also recently unveiled the brand new Kabilin (Heritage Lounge) which offers authentic Cebuano cuisine. It is reminiscent of an old Filipino Ilustrado home, with the three main components mainly, the Sala or the living Room, where the Mariposa chair is flanked by the long wooden table. On one side is the “Painit sa Kabilin” snack buffet of authentic Cebuano favorites like binignit, palabok, puto-maya with mangga and sikwate.

Just beside the buffet area is a small hallway leading to the comedor or dining hall on the right and the veranda or outdoor porch on the left. The place relives the glorious past and the beginnings of the Cebuano culinary heritage, with the influences and nuances of both the Spaniards and the Chinese infused in our buffet snack items as well as interiors that are reminiscent of the Spanish era toward the turn of the century. Kabilin Heritage Lounge is at the ground floor of the Golden Prince Hotel and Suites.

Special guests during the ribbon-cutting ceremony were DOT-7 director Shalimar Tamano, Cebu vice-governor Agnes Magpale, Argao Mayor Stanley Caminero, Golden Prince Hotel heritage ambassador Louella Alix and president Benny Que.
