Kowloon Shangri-La Hongkong’s Director of Communications Patsy Chan was in town recently and invited select Lifestyle writers to a very special lunch at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa’s Acqua where Italian chef Andres Burzio prepared an out-of-this-world menu which was so good.

Actually, Patsy Chan came to tell us all about the unique Cultural Heritage Package that offers a luxurious stay at the five-star Kowloon Shangri-La, Hongkong and a guided walking tour off the beaten paths to discover “hidden” gems and fascinating secrets around Tsim Sha Tsui… and from UNESCO-nominated buildings, the city’s oldest military facility and the Kowloon peninsula’s Catholic church to the primary school attended by Kung Fu master Bruce Lee. So inviting, just drop by there when in Honkong!

Last  month, a nail salon in Gov. Cuenco Avenue, Banilad (across Bright Academy) was officially opened. Oh yes, the Loveish Nails is a pink nail salon owned by beauty queen Crystal Star Aberasturi Kang which is out of ordinary… for it not only offers nail services as manicure, pedicure, gel, foot scrub, massage and nail art but also a place where you can shop the latest trendy outfits at an affordable price. It is a dream come true indeed for women, a combination of nails plus shopping in one place.

During the launching of the nail salon, present were Crystal Kang and her husband Boris Kang with Adrian Diongzon from ABS-CBN, models Yanny Penserga, Cyntha Thomalla, Mikes Beltran and Jessa Cariaga with the ever-supportive family of Crystal… father Ramon Aberasturi with her lovely Mom Gina Escario Aberasturi and sister Steffi Aberasturi, plus Grand Mom Conching Sescon Aberasturi, who came all the way from Malitbog, Leyte del Sur to witness the occasion and had her nails done too.

The Quota International of Mandaue kicked off their Quota Cares 2017 service project “Weaving Skills Training Program,” a trash-to-cash livelihood program offered to the hard-of-hearing and womenfolk of a mountain barangays in Carcar City a month ago. It was a busy day of weaving fun and excitement as the women of Sitio Bagacay learned to make wallets from trash materials. The dynamic Mandaue Quotarians vowed to continue to assist the womenfolk of other undeserved mountain barangays with sustainable ways of living. Congrats to the Quotarians of Mandaue!
