Balinese food fest

CULTURE VULTURE - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Starting yesterday until tomorrow, November 19, three Executive Chefs from Bali, Indonesia are at the Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan for a three-night Balinese food fest. Chefs Denny Frederick, Desak Ketut Darmayanti and I Komang Aryana deliver authentic Balinese and Indonesian selections for Saffron Café's dinner buffet.

"Being partners with Archipelago International in Indonesia, which manages a number of properties in Indonesia, gives us a wonderful advantage to be able to offer an authentic culinary experience by bringing some of their best chefs," says Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan's General Manager Didier Belmonte. "Chef Denny Frederick is the management company's corporate executive chef and oversees all properties in the archipelago, and having his expertise and talent for the Balinese offering at Saffron Café is such an honor."

Denny, who is joined by Kamuela Sanur's  Desak and Aston Denpasar's I Komang, treats guests to their traditional Indonesian and Balinese signature dishes including traditional seafood soup with lime leaf, Bali's version of suckling pig, roasted duck, and jackfruit and coconut wrapped in rice crepes.

The Balinese food fest dinner buffet at Saffron Café is priced per person and inclusive of one beverage. For more information, one may call Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan at +63 32 401 9999 or visit the website crimsonhotel.com/mactan. (FREEMAN)
