New Fashion Mark in Cebu's New Year

Yasunari Ramon Suarez Taguchi - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - As if foretelling what's to expect in Cebu's fashion scene next year, a new mark has emerged - to the great delight of the city's ever burgeoning circle of fashionistas. And greater, because it's right within the vortex of the metro's ultimate fashion destination.

Amid the madness that pervades the holiday season was the inauguration of the new Marks & Spencer store at Ayala Center Cebu - at the intersection Paseo Ciudad and Paseo Marina - on December 3. It was an occasion appropriately highlighted by a fashion presentation of the brand's 2015 holiday portfolio.

Lightweight knits and glossy fabrics were among the dominant elements of the show's showcased items. Printed neutral-toned argyles smoothly matched thatches and crisscrossed plaids. The presentation had an unmistakable flair of Marks & Spencers' established reputation for quality and style.

Founded in Leeds, England in 1884, Marks & Spencer continues to play an important role in setting novel trends and stylish themes in the global fast-fashion scene - offering a vast selection of eveningwear, loungewear and casualwear choices for men and women.

The holiday collection goes very well with the cold season in the city which, according to the weather bureau, is to last until the end of February. The pieces presented do not only work to make one look chic, but feel comfortably warm as well.

Apart from its standing as one of the world's leading fast-fashion brands, Marks & Spencer also specializes in quality fashion accessories, fragrances, lingerie and luxury food products - all available at the commodious 800-square-meter new Marks & Spencer at the Ayala Center Cebu.
