The Sound of Sunshine

Yasunari Ramon Suarez Taguchi - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - It was an afternoon full of fun and excitement as the Gallery at the Ayala Center Cebu played host to the "Sound of Sunshine: A Kidchella Party" fashion show recently, in line with the grand launch of Rustan's Cebu.

The mainly children's wear fashion presentation was top-billed by more than 20 community models dressed in various casualwears. Festive patterns and textures were the dominant motifs of the show - aptly exuding a candid and casual flair.

Showcasing some of the cutest and hippest fashion brands for kids, the show displayed the most on-trend pieces for the little ones as they adorably tread the catwalk. With beauty queen Karla Henry as the show host, the kids confidently hit the runway, wearing the latest styles from brands like Neck & Neck, Rustan's Kiddos, Rustan's Baby Club, Belle Mama, Rustanette and Rustan Jr., all in colorful and fun designs and prints.

The "Sound of Sunshine: A Kidachella Party" - an American-themed Coachella party - was actually the launch of Rustan's new Children's Wear Collections.

Though temper tantrums and childish behavior have somewhat been associated with fashion shows in the caliber of "Sound of Sunshine," none of the event's little models succumbed to this rut and, instead, professionally carried themselves like pros - much to the glee of the proud mamas, papas, lolos, lolas, titos and titas who were present during the event.

The event was the second fashion presentation spearheaded by the new Rustan's Cebu, fittingly heralding the many big things to be expected from one of the country's longest running luxury retail chains.  (FREEMAN)
