Spicy chicken wings anyone?

Mae Mercader - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – Are you craving for spicy chicken wings? How about potato wedges with spicy sauce all over? Then grab some at Gibb's Chicken Wings.

The restaurant got its name from the family dog, a Golden Retriever named Gibbs, shared Frank Oliva, the owner.

"We want an alternative name for our restaurant and my son told me to call it Gibb's" he said. "It was merely just for fun. My wife cooks for me and my friends. Then my friends started to buy her famous chicken wings specialty. And that gave us an idea to venture into something new. We started the business last year February 2014," he added.

The restaurant has two branches. The first branch is located at the Holy Family Village 2, Banilad, Cebu. It's actually a private area so it's very safe for you to dine out with your friends there. The second branch is located at Streetscape, Maria Luisa St., Banilad, Cebu City.

"What makes us different from other restaurants is that we never claim our chicken wings as buffalo wings like other restaurants do. Second, it's Filipino-inspired cuisine and Filipinos love to eat spicy food. Lastly, we made it out of our own specialty and it's for everyone," Oliva said.
